dreams.

I want to own a shop. A coffee shop. An odds & ends shop. A mini version of Anthropologie. A shop that you can feel comfortable in, get lost in, dream in, sing in, dance in… and drink yummy coffee in. I want that. I WILL have it. Every now and then, I just have to remind myself of that dream of mine. These are one of those times.

I had a thought while driving.

You know how, when people feel generous, they like to pay for the person’s coffee, who is standing behind them in line? Well… what if people did that at the gas station? I mean. That’d be stinking awesome. And I hope one day, when I pull into the gas station… someone comes over to me and says, “Ma’am… I’d like to be kind today and pay for your gas.”

Fingers crossed.

Spearing sharks & ghetto cheerleaders..

I’ve been having the weirdest dreams lately. Last night, I had this dream that a bunch of people & myself drove to Tahiti… yeah, weird. (Who drives to Tahiti?) While we were there, we were at my cousins house, which is right on the beach. His house was surrounded by windows, and we could see the waves getting bigger and bigger - and then all of a sudden, sirens started to go off. Over the country’s loud speakers, we heard someone say, “The sharks are coming in! The sharks are coming in! All shark spearers, get ready!” And then all of a sudden, every started to peel off their clothes, grab their spears and they all ran out to jump in the waves. There had to be over 100 sharks coming to shore. It was crazy, people started jumping into the waves, spearing sharks… killing them all off. And then they all came into the building like that was not a big deal. I was like, “Um..get me out of here!!!!” And I’m remembering, before driving to Tahiti… I was hanging out with Michael Jordan & we were pretty much best friends. That was awesome.

And then, today, I just woke up from a little nap and I had this dream that I was at a cheer competition of some sort… and this girl, who was REALLLL ghetto, looked at me and said, “Guuurl… you got cheer hair! You must be a cheerleader. Show me some cheers!” I just looked at her, jokingly did the only cheer thing I knew, laughed & said, “Nope. Not a cheerleader.” Some creepy man, who I kept calling uncle, escorted my friend & i to our hotel room & then left us.

Super weird. Beyond weird…

Come travel the world w/me…

Thanks to my friend Dierdre, I’ve been thinking a lot about traveling the world. Ever since I was a baby, my family & I traveled a lot. We didn’t go to too many different places, but between running around our own state (WA! woot woot!), flying to Cali & flying to Hawaii almost every year (Oh, and our trip to Samoa)… we picked up the love for traveling. The thought of going to the airport and getting on a plane isn’t an inconvenience for me.. I love it! In these past (almost) 3 years of being in/working for the Master’s Commission program, I’ve done a lot of getting on planes, transferring airports, getting stuck at airports, going to lots of different places; and this yr, I’ll be going out of the country (Nicaragua!) etc. etc. And I am realizing… for the rest of my life, I want to travel. Spontaneous trips, planned trips, vacations here, vacations there… camping trips, sleep on the beach in a camper trips… cruises, whatever. I just want to travel. I love all the different cultures, different sceneries and different atmospheres.. And really, I just want to see this beautiful world before it’s too late.

So if you’re in the same boat… come travel the world w/me, please. I’d love your company.

Pretty sure I almost had a panic attack..

Last night I had a girl’s worst nightmare. In my nightmare, I was planned to get married at 6 pm. I looked at the clock and it was 5:45 pm - my hair wasn’t done, I had no makeup on and I couldn’t find my heels. I remember running into the foyer of the church, looking for my sister to help me with my hair, to soon find out she was ON FREAKING VACATION!!!!! No one to help me…. my bridesmaids weren’t even willing. So I went back to the bathroom, did my own hair, did my own makeup … all while crying my eyes out. I remember texting my fiance questions like, “Are you sure it starts at 6?” , “Did you ever get a photographer?” , “Can we push it back to 7?” , etc. etc. After getting ready, I walked in the sanctuary just to check it out and make sure everything was in place. As I peeked in, I think this is where the panic attack kicked in. Everything was red. Not my favorite color. Red roses (not my favorite flower) EVERYWHERE. The arch looked similar to the picture above….. take that picture and put more red roses, streamers, ribbon, anything red on it…. it was horrific. All my bridesmaids were in bright red dresses, that looked more like jumpers. I cried…. a lot.

And then I woke up….. but I’m pretty sure if I didn’t wake up and continued this nightmare - I probably would’ve called the wedding off.
